Thanksgiving Day Ride 10:30 am

Thursday, November 26, 2015

Abundant sunshine, low 40's. In March with this forecast we will be running out of our houses wearing our Hawaiian shirts and hitting the slopes, beach parties. Now we hesitate a bit.

I am ready to do a short ride tomorrow, before the Thanksgiving Meal! Anyone want to join in? A short, easy paced ride will be the way to enjoy the sunshine and the spin!

Meet at the parking lot behind the Eastern Slopes Inn in North Conway at 10:30 am. We can do West Side and Passaconaway or do a tour of North Conway (Cranmore, Old Bartlett Road, 16A, Town Hall Road). Riders will decide.

Have a great Thanksgiving with friends and family!

No Ride This Week due to Cold and Rain

Thursday, November 19th, 2015

Looks like the weather is not cooperating with us for a ride this week.

Check again next week... perhaps the weather will allow for a Thanksgiving Day short ride before the Turkey dinner!!!

Cheers!! Have a nice holiday!!

Weather not looking good...

Thursday, November 12, 2015

The forecast does not look inspiring for a ride tomorrow, with cool temps, clouds and rain coming in.

The long term forecast looks good for NEXT Thursday, see you then, I hope!!

The Basin, 10:30 am

Thursday, Nov 5, 2015

How about a late fall ride to The Basin?

The weather forecast looks great! Starting at 10:30 should insure a warmer start. Ride as far as you like, many options to choose from.  Check out the former location of the Red Iron Bridge. Check out the new pavement on Union Hill Road (only about a mile, but we'll take it!!) Stop at the Stow Store for lunch or snacks. The fall fields and golden colors will be beautiful!

Meet at the corner of South Chatham Road and Route 113 in North Fryeburg, alongside the park next to the Saco Valley Fire Station. As you already know, please do not block the fire station parking area.

The last quarter mile up to The Basin is a dirt road, and I am not sure of its condition at this point of the season. If it is a wash out, you may want to just use the campground at the entrance as the lunch and/or turnaround spot.

The starting time, ready-to-ride will be 10:30 am.

Doing the ride starting south on 113 with a left on Fish St and left on MacNeil, it will be a 28 mile ride.  Add another 5 miles if you add the Cornshop-Rt 5-Fish Street loop.

Enjoy! I will see you next week, hopefully the weather will be good then, too!!!
