Cancelled, again.

Thursday, January 31, 2019

Last week I cancelled the ThursdaySki due to warm temperatures and rain. This week I cancel due to  single digit temperatures and wind.

I didn't want to do this again, but I think the prudent thing for me to do is to cancel the ski for this week due to the serious windchill.

I wanted to head up to Bretton Woods to do the Mountain Road adventure, but we will have to delay this until we have more pleasant weather.

Rain? 45 degrees?? Cancelled.

Thursday, January 23, 2019

The skiing has been so great over the past weeks, actually, over the past 2 months!

It is just not fair to get rain on top of all this beautiful snow. Oh well, a day off to do the chores that have been accumulating due to superb skiing. Good news is that since there is so much snow, the rain will just soak in and be just fine for more skiing by Friday.

So I will cancel for this week, and hope for a better forecast for next Thursday!  If all goes well it could be a Bretton Woods, Mountain Road adventure.

If we can't ski this Thursday, at least we can look at a few photos:

JacksonXC at 10:00 am One way down the Ellis

Thursday, January 17, 2019

It’s groomed, it has been superb, excellent, awesome, epic. Let’s do the One Way Down the Ellis from Rocky Branch.

This is a good trip on a cold day. We will carpool up to the Rocky Branch and ski down from there. A slight up on the Hall brings us to the Kellogg which is an excellent downhill on excellent snow.
The snow has excellent glide and we will need a few double poles and will have an excellent cruise down the tracks.

Did I say excellent enough???

Lets meet at 10:00 at the lodge.
Dress warmly, a balaclava or face coverage by a scarf or neck-up is a good idea!

JacksomXC 10:00 am

Thursday, January 10, 2019

A report from some intrepid BC skiers (Barb and Bill) after their expedition today indicated to me that we are much better off staying on the groomed surfaces for tomorrow's ski. The snow was heavy and slick, hard to control on any downslope. The day looks cloudy with snow flurries, so we will be much better off enjoying the freshly groomed trails. Let's ski at Jackson.

Meet in the Lodge, ready to ski at 10:00 am. If the Keeney Loop is ready for us, that will be the first choice!

Thursday, January 3, 2019

Happy New Year! I hope you all have another year of fun adventures wherever you may roam!

We don't need to roam too far this week, let's head over to JacksonXC. the crowds are gone and the Ellis River Trail just recently opened up all the way out. Lets head out there and do the whole thing.

Meet in the JacksonXC Lodge, ready to ski at 10:00 am. Bring snacks or lunch. We might have some fresh snow coming down while we ski in a winter wonderland!

See you there!
