The North Road Ride

It appears that we can get a ride in in the morning and early afternoon before the rain comes in for the next few days....

The North Road Ride (Gorham to Bethel) would be a good one to get away from the "Rally in the Valley" road noise and traffic. A 9:00 ready to ride start would be the best bet for completing the ride before afternoon showers.

Start time: 9:00 am, ready to ride

Total Mileage: 39 miles

Destination: A riverside park in Bethel. Bring lunch and snacks.

Starting Point: North Road in Gorham. Park at the intersection of North Road and Hogan Road. There is not a lot of available space here, so carpooling is recommended.

Carpool: Grants/Old Dunkin Donuts parking lot at 8:00 am

Directions to North Road: Drive north on route16 over Pinkham Notch, take a right on route 2 east, drive about 3 miles to North Road which on the left just after a big stone house. Cross the river on the dam and go about 1/4 mile to where North Road bears sharp right. Hogan Road parking area is on the left.

Shorter option: Start at the iron bridge in Gilead. This would be at about the 9 mile mark for those who are starting from Gorham, so it cuts out 18 miles of riding. Park in the canoe parking area to the south of the bridge, then ride over the bridge and wait for the rest of us to meet you.
