Bretton Woods Nordic

Thursday, March 22, 2018

Yes, let's go to Bretton Woods! The storm is staying well south of us. According to the forecasts there may be a dusting to an inch of snow very early tomorrow morning and partial clearing in the afternoon. It won't be bluebird day up there but skiing there lately has been superb, so lets go enjoy it!

If Mountain Road is groomed we will do it. If it is not (has not been groomed since last weekend) it could be too firm for enjoyment. We will make that call when we get up there. If not Mountain Road, we can ski all over the Ammonoosuc System. The Stumpwalk Trail has been redone and it is really nice! We will include Wiley's Way, Tunnel, Sebosis, Porcupine to the new cabin (that replaces the yurt), Abenaki, Clinton, Crawford's Pass. At least!

Bretton Woods is half price any day with a JacksonXC Season's pass...don't forget to bring your pass!

If we do Mountain Road, you will need to purchase a one-time-up lift ticket. For those of you getting letters from your ski area employer, get one that works for the alpine area. An alpine day pass is convertible to nordic.

If it is windy in the morning, it should not be an issue. I was there 2 days ago in some strong wind, but all was OK in the woods.

Bring trailside lunch/snacks and beverage. We can eat at the cabin.

Carpool:  Meet at Grant's parking lot, right side by the strip mall area at 9:30.

For those not carpooling or driving over from the northwest, meet at Bretton Woods Nordic Center at 10:10.
